SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — As the public cemetery in this town was opened during “Undas” after a two-year closure due to the pandemic, residents were encouraged to visit their deceased relatives early to avoid the crowds.
At a meeting on Oct. 28 with the town’s Incident Management Team and other concerned agencies, Mayor Elmer Soria said the local government had prepared measures to ensure public safety for All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day (Nov. 1 and 2).
Soria reminded visitors to take precautions to avoid the spread of COVID-19.
He said the unvaccinated persons against COVID-19 would be barred from the cemetery.
Also banned inside the cemetery are alcoholic drinks, flammable materials, firearms, sharp objects, sound systems, and gambling.
As of Oct. 28, the town had zero active COVID-19 cases. INQ
