Power outages hit some parts of Baguio and neighboring La Trinidad town in Benguet province since Sunday, and repair work has been slow due to lashing rain and winds, said Melchor Licoben, manager of the Benguet Electric Cooperative.

He said linemen have been roaming the streets for more than 24 hours to remove fallen trees and evaluate the extent of the damage.

The power outages have also affected water services in the city. INQ
