SAN ANTONIO, Zambales – Some towns in this province suffered power interruptions as strong winds brought by Severe Tropical Storm Paeng (international name: Nalgae) downed electricity lines on Sunday, Oct. 31.
In an advisory, Zambales II Electric Cooperative (Zameco II), that serves the southern towns of the province, said that transmission lines managed by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) were down.
It affected the towns of San Marcelino, San Antonio, San Narciso, San Felipe, and Cabangan.
Meanwhile, Zameco I, that serves the northern part of Zambales, also announced that there was no electricity in some parts of Palauig town after trees fell on power lines.
As of 5 p.m., Sunday, the state weather bureau said Paeng has maintained its strength while moving West Southwestward in Luzon.
