OLONGAPO CITY—Some 5,000 police personnel will be deployed to various cemeteries in Central Luzon to ensure public safety during “Undas” (All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day), authorities said Friday, Oct. 28.

In a statement, Brig. Gen. Cesar Pasiwen, director of Police Regional Office 3, said the police officers would closely monitor at least 678 cemeteries.

Pasiwen said they were targeting zero crime incidence during the observation of Undas in the region.

He said the policemen would sustain the level of alertness and vigilance to ensure maximum police presence in all places of convergence, including churches, “so as to assure our public of a safe and secure Undas…”

“I want to remind our public to also be wary and alert so as not to give lawless elements the opportunity to carry out their nefarious activities.”
