Scattered rains, cloudy skies in Luzon—Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines —Parts of Luzon will experience cloudy skies and scattered rains due to a low pressure area prevailing over western Luzon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said late Wednesday.

Pagasa in its 5 p.m. bulletin said that as of 2 p.m., the LPA was seen 130 kilometers east of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.

Luzon will experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms which will become widespread rain over Palawan and the eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon which may trigger flashfloods and landslide, the state-run weather bureau warned.

Meanwhile, Visayas and Western Mindanao will have mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms. The rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, Pagasa said.

“Moderate to strong winds blowing from the southwest to southeast will prevail over Palawan and Mindanao and coming from the east to southeast over the rest of the country. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be moderate to rough,” Pagasa added.
