LPA off Eastern Visayas intensifies into Tropical Depression Paeng; expect heavy rain
MANILA, Philippines — The low-pressure area spotted east of Eastern Visayas has now developed into Tropical Depression Paeng, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Wednesday.
The state weather bureau also warned that Paeng’s trough is seen to bring moderate to heavy with at times intense rain over the region, which is also being affected by the shear line.
Pagasa likewise noted that the combined trough and the shear line will also bring light to moderate with at times heavy rain in Quezon province, the Bicol Region, Northern Mindanao, and Zamboanga Peninsula.
