MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga — Police arrested 56 persons with outstanding warrants for different crimes in Tarlac province after their weeklong operations from Oct. 17 to 23.

In a statement on Monday, Oct. 24, Tarlac police director Colonel Erwin Sanque said the arrested suspects include two on the provincial police’s most wanted list, and five at the municipal level.

He said the Tarlac police also arrested 19 persons engaged in illegal gambling in Tarlac City, Gerona, and La Paz and confiscated playing cards and P8,200 bet money.

The Tarlac police said they also arrested nine suspected drug peddlers that resulted in the seizure of 16 sachets containing alleged “shabu” (crystal meth).

It said respective owners also surrendered 10 firearms with expired licenses in Anao, Camiling, Capas, Concepcion, La Paz, Mayantoc, and Victoria.

Firearms recovery is in line with “Oplan Katok,” in which police visit the homes of gun owners with expired licenses and ask them to turn over their firearms for safekeeping. INQ
