MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) confirmed on Sunday the appointment of former Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Camilo Cascolan as one of the agency’s undersecretaries.
The DOH also announced that Atty. Charade Mercado-Grande has also been “reappointed” as health assistant secretary.
“Yes, we confirm the receipt of the appointment papers of Mr. Camilo Cascolan, Atty. Charade Mercado-Grande, and several directors,” the DOH said in a statement sent to reporters.
“As regards your questions on their assignments, we will make available the assignments of our Execom members to you as soon as available,” it added.
Reports on Cascolan’s appointment as the health bureau undersecretary have already been floating online before the announcement.
Meanwhile, a DOH secretary has yet to be appointed.
