35 families homeless after fire hits Calauag, Quezon

MANILA, Philippines – Roughly 35 families were displaced after a fire gutted their homes in Calauag town, Quezon province on Tuesday morning, an officer from the Bureau of Fire Protection said.

Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Quezon province Fire Officer 3 Arsenio Teorica said that the fire broke out at around 2:25 a.m., and razed 17 homes in a two-block area along JP Rizal St., Poblacion II in Calauag town, Quezon province. He said no one was injured, or killed during the fire.

The fire was put out at around 5 p.m., said Teorica. An investigation was underway to determine the fire’s cause,” he added.
