MANILA, Philippines – Tropical Depression Obet is now outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) and all wind signals were lifted on Saturday afternoon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
Pagasa also lifted all gale warnings in all of the country’s seaboards.
According to Pagasa’s 5 p.m. advisory, Obet is now 269 kilometers west of Basco, Batanes, with maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 55 kilometers per hour.
“Tropical Depression Obet is unlikely to directly affect the weather condition in the country,” said Pagasa.
Obet is moving slowly westwards and may further weaken due to the cold winds of the northeast monsoon or amihan.
The Davao Region, the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) and the Zamboanga Peninsula can expect cloudy skies with scattered rain due to an intertropical convergence Zone while Metro Manila and the rest of the country can expect partly cloudy skies with scattered rains due to localized thunderstorms.
