Marcos Jr. receives painting from artist Alvin Hipolito
MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Friday received a portrait made by renowned artist Alvin Hipolito.
Hipolito paid a courtesy call on the President at the Malacañan Palace where he gave the painting, according to the Office of the Press Secretary officer-in-charge Cheloy Garafil.
“President Ferdinand R. Marcos on Friday expressed gratitude after receiving a portrait of him made by renowned artist Alvin Hipolito,” Garafil said in a statement.
Alvin Hipolito is the son of the late visual artist Dante Hipolito, who was known for his painting “Salubong,” which portrays Pope Francis with some Filipino celebrities in a rural setting.
Among those featured in the painting were actress Vilma Santos, singer Gary Valenciano, and movie stars Marian Rivera, Dingdong Dantes, Coco Martin, and Kris Aquino, Garafil said.
