CITY OF MALOLOS—The province of Bulacan was conferred on Thursday (Oct. 20) the “Most Business-Friendly Local Government Unit (LGU)” award (province level) by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce, and Industry (PCCI) during the 48th Philippine Business Conference and Expo held at the Fiesta Pavilion, The Manila Hotel, in Manila.

President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., who personally handed the plaque of recognition to Bulacan Gov. Daniel Fernando, congratulated the province and all its officials for the feat.

The President said the government is doubling its efforts at “recovering the many opportunities lost prior to the global health crisis while navigating the waters of the new normal.”

“These awards signify your efforts to make your communities faster-growing, more progressive, and more economically agile in the face of our new global post-pandemic economy,” Mr. Marcos said.

Fernando said their efforts in adopting and carrying out innovative and best practices in good governance with the help of the private sector are key factors in being a business-friendly province.

The governor thanked the PCCI for the recognition and said that Bulacan would continue to work on its commitment to establish a vibrant local economy, provide opportunities for every Bulakenyo, and ensure that no one would be left behind.

“Ang mga ganitong uri ng parangal ay nagpapatunay na tinatahak natin ang tamang landas tungo sa tagumpay. Paalala ito para sa amin na lalong magpursige upang ibigay ang pinakamataas na uri ng serbisyo-publiko sa aming mga kalalawigan,” Fernando said.

This year’s award highlights LGU success stories and best practices in restoring, resuming, and increasing business operations at the local level in partnership with the private sector.
