Man killed in Quezon road crash while waiting for bus ride
LUCENA CITY — A 53-year-old man died early Friday after being hit by a passing vehicle while waiting for a bus ride along the Maharlika Highway in Gumaca town in Quezon province.
In a report, the Quezon police said Rocky Redima was on the roadside at 2:15 a.m. when he was accidentally hit by a Mitsubishi Adventure GLX2 driven by Jackelaine Vega on a section of the highway in Barangay Panikihan.
The victim suffered severe injuries and was taken to Gumaca District Hospital in the locality, but he died on the way.
Vega was placed in police custody while the incident was being investigated.
