OLONGAPO CITY — The city government has allowed its residents to visit public and private cemeteries, memorial parks, and columbariums during “Undas.”
In a statement on Friday, Oct. 21, Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr. said cemeteries would be open from Oct. 31 to Nov. 1 as the country observes All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.
Paulino said visitors would be allowed during these days from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
But the mayor said children 5 years old and below are prohibited from the cemeteries.
Paulino also reminded residents to wear face masks as a precaution against the spread of COVID-19 when visiting their departed loved ones.
Last year, cemeteries in the city were closed during Undas due to the threat of the virus.
At that time, the city government allowed residents to go to the cemeteries only from Oct. 27-29 and Nov. 3-5. INQ
