Muntinlupa City ranked third in revenue collection in the National Capital Region and eighth nationwide, the local government said on Thursday.
The Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF) lauded the city’s performance in locally sourced revenue or income from real property, business, taxes, regulatory fees, service or users charges, and economic enterprises.
According to the BLGF, Muntinlupa posted 129.8-percent collection efficiency and gathered P3.73 billion for 2021, besting its target of P2.87 billion by 29.8 percent.
The city government said residents can expect more returns on their taxes via scholarships, interest-free micro loans for micro, small and medium enterprises, and accessible health-care services. —ANGEL YABUT
