OLONGAPO CITY–Five residents here died of COVID-19 in the past week as the city’s tally of infections continued to climb, local data showed Thursday, Oct. 20.

According to the city’s COVID-19 task force, at least one death related to the viral disease has been recorded since Oct. 15.

As of Thursday, the COVID-19 death toll here stood at 365.

Two new infections and 15 recoveries were also registered on the same day, bringing the total active COVID-19 cases to 45.

Since 2020, the city has registered 7,520 COVID-19 cases with 7,110 recoveries.

At least nine suspected COVID-19 cases were also being monitored as of Thursday. INQ
