BACOLOD CITY — The remaining evacuees in Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental, have returned home two weeks after they fled amid clashes between government soldiers and communist rebels.
Brig. Gen. Inocencio Pasaporte, 303rd Infantry Brigade commander, said Wednesday, October 19, that the Philippine Army informed the Himamaylan Incident Management Team (IMT) that sitios Medel, Campaya, and Sig-ang were already cleared.
Himamaylan Mayor Raymund Tongson, in a statement, thanked all those who assisted the evacuees.
“Please continue praying for our city and our people,” he said.
