Sampaloc fire victims receive relief packs from Tutok to Win Rep. Verzosa
MANILA, Philippines —Victims of the recent fire in Sampaloc, Manila, have received the relief materials they badly needed as they begin to recover from their trauma and the destruction of their homes.
Residents of Barangay 439 located at the corner of Honradez and Verdad streets were overjoyed to receive the goods handed out by Tutok to Win Rep. Sam Verzosa.
The fire displaced around 35 families and most of them were currently living in makeshift tents put up along Verdad street.
Verzosa handed them relief packs containing premium goods and items such as Spam, Delimondo corned beef, Toblerone and Cadbury chocolates, Champorado, Gourmet tuyo, Coffee, Milk, Sugar, Rice, Frontrow Luxxe Vitamins, and Frontrow celebrity soaps.
“Sinikap namin na makapagbigay ng mga relief packs na may lamang mga espesyal na pagkain at goodies na malapit sa puso ko. Ito yung nagbibigay sa akin ng saya nung bata pa ako pag may nagbibigay ng ganito,” said Verzosa, who extended help through Frontrow Cares.
(We are trying our best to give relief packs containing special food items and goodies close to my heart. These things put joy in my heart when I was still a kid — when somebody gave me like these.)
Also present during the distribution of relief goods were Rep. Antonio “Tonypet” T. Albano (1st District, Isabela) and Miss Universe Spain 2022 official candidate Ms. Alicia Faubel.
“Dati na namin itong ginagawa. Kahit before pa mag pandemic. Ngunit grateful ako na ngayong representative na ako ng Tutok to Win party-list ay lalo tayong nabigyan ng pagkakataon na maging boses ng mga naghihirap at naghihikahos nating mga kapwa Pilipino,” said Verzosa.
(We’ve been doing this a long time ago. Even before the pandemic. But now I am grateful that when I became Tutok to Win party-list representative, I was given a chance to be the voice of our fellow Filipinos who are marginalized.)
