Corona properties in US?

/ 09:40 AM March 27, 2012

It is not known if indeed Chief Justice Renato Corona has properties in the United States but there may be an investigation after a property there was found to be registered under the name of Renato C. Corona.

I think the prosecution should investigate. This  is very important in their case against Corona especially if it could be proven that the property was not disclosed in his Statement of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth.

Meanwhile, the Commission on Audit disallowed the purchase by the Manila City government of the Basa-Quidote property located in Legarda Street in Manila City for many reasons but what is kind of anomalous is that it took the COA 11 years after the sale for the COA to disallow the transaction and the defense smells something fishy in the disallowance.

It is not known if the administration of President Benigno Aquino III had a hand in the COA prohibition made by the COA but some people believed it did.

FEATURED STORIES

Others believe that the Aquino administration cannot do the thing that is accused of. I believe Congress will investigate why COA did it and whether or not this was a valid exercise of the commission’s powers.

I think an investigation is the proper thing to do.

The Cebu City Council decided to take down all  tarpaulin posters found in the streets of Cebu City as risks to the safety of motorists.

Affected by the decision are posters that bear the name of Don Vicente Rama, Father of the Cebu City Charter, and that of Councilor Bebot Abellanosa found near the school he has established.

But some political observers were quick to say that the target of the council decision was  the Don Vicente Rama posters perceived by the Bando Osmeña-Pundok Kauswagan dominated council as a political ad that may help Mayor Michael Rama in his political career especially that the election is drawing near.

Rama may argue that there is nothing political about the posters because they state a matter of historical fact.

But the BO-PK dominated council sees otherwise and feels  Rama is using them as free political advertisement.

Well, at this time when the political pot is already boiling it is logical that all these trappings are given political color.

Allow me to congratulate all  graduates of batch 2012 in all the college and universities. The years of hard work are over and now is the time to face realities of life outside world of school.

It is time for our graduates to look for work and apply what they have learned in their newfound jobs.

Today there is a great discrepancy between our graduates’ degrees and industry demands. That is why the K+12 educational reform program of President Aquino plays a very important role.

In the K+12 program,  the senior high of two years is introduced to make our senior high school students  qualified to work without going to college.

Not all high school students will have to go to universities or college because the admissions exams for college would be very stringent. College would be for specialization. I think we should look at the K+12 as an answer to our desires for children to be employable after high school. We need not spend so much for college in order for our children to find jobs.
