MANILA, Philippines — Seven provinces had a “very high” COVID-19 positivity rate while Metro Manila’s decreased, independent pandemic monitor OCTA Research Group said Thursday.
OCTA fellow Guido David said Metro Manila’s COVID-19 positivity rate dropped to 15% on Oct. 11 from 17.9% on Oct. 8.
The seven provinces with“very high” positivity are:
Camarines Sur – 46.2%
Cavite – 22.6%
Laguna – 22.2%
Rizal – 21.2%
South Cotabato – 26.2%
Tarlac – 51.8%
Zambales – 33.6%
“Positivity rates as of Oct 11. Positivity rate decreasing in NCR but increasing in other provinces. Positivity rates are very high in Camarines Sur, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal, South Cotabato, Tarlac (over 50%), Zambales,” David said in a Twitter post.

The positivity rate refers to the percentage of people who were found positive for COVID-19 among the total number of individuals tested.
