While it decreased, the positivity rate is still above the 5-percent threshold of the World Health Organization.
Reproduction number — or the number of individuals being infected by a COVID-19 patient — likewise dropped from 0.99 as of October 6 to 0.93 on October 10.
According to Octa research, the ideal reproduction number is below 1.
The COVID-19 one-week growth rate, meanwhile, also went down from -18 percent to -16 percent.
However, the COVID-19 healthcare utilization rate slightly inched up from 36 percent to 37 percent.
“Let’s hope the downward trend continues the rest of the year,” David said.
