MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang has extended the term of employees and officials of the Office of the President (OP) coterminous with the previous administration until the end of 2022 “to prevent disruption in the delivery of government offices.”

This was enclosed in Memorandum Order No. 7, dated Sept. 27, signed by newly sworn-in Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.

Under the order, employees and officials in the OP whose appointments were coterminous with the Duterte  administration will remain in service until December 31, 2022.

This is unless their appointments are revoked sooner, resignations are accepted, replacements are appointed, or reappointments are issued.

During the flag-raising ceremony at Malacañang on Monday, Director Andrea Maila Ordanez of the OP Human Resources, expressed gratitude over the memorandum order.

“We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Executive Secretary Bersamin for the issuance of Memorandum Order No. 7.  It is really hard to be in that place of uncertainty, especially this coming Christmas season,” she said.

“Ang hiling lang ng bawat isa sa amin ay maging happy tayo ngayong Pasko,” Ordanez added.

(We only want to have a happy Christmas this year.)
