LUCENA CITY — Police rescued on Thursday an alleged Chinese kidnap victim, after escaping from her abductors, in Batangas City.

The Batangas police said the victim is a native of Shanghai, China, and a resident of New Port City in Pasay City.

The police said the victim escaped around 2:40 a.m. from her captors in a house inside a subdivision in Barangay Alangilan.

A local police found her in a convenience store in the village and brought her to the police station.

The woman said she was kidnapped in Angeles City, Pampanga on Sept. 17, and held captive in a house in Alangilan.

The police anti-kidnapping group based in Camp Crame confirmed a report of an abduction in Angeles City on that date.

The live-in partner of the victim file the report.

According to the boyfriend, a white Toyota Fortuner driven by a Filipino with two Chinese nationals on board fetched the victim.

Later, the boyfriend received a video on his mobile phone showing the victim inside a bar. He also received a telephone call demanding $200,000 in exchange for her freedom.

The police are conducting further investigation.

Brigadier General Jose Melencio Nartatez, Jr., Police Regional Office 4A chief, ordered the anti-kidnapping operatives to investigate the incident thoroughly and arrest the perpetrators. INQ
