DOH logs 1,764 new COVID-19 cases; active infections down to 25,733

Another 1,764 new infections of COVID-19 were added to the country’s COVID-19 caseload on Wednesday, based on the Department of Health’s (DOH) COVID-19 tracker, with active infections down to 25,733.

MANILA, Philippines — Another 1,764 new infections of COVID-19 were added to the country’s COVID-19 caseload on Wednesday, based on the Department of Health’s (DOH) COVID-19 tracker, with active infections down to 25,733.

With this, the total COVID-19 caseload is now at 3,958,786, with 3,869,942 recoveries and 63,111 deaths.

These new infections are lower than the 2,288 daily average infections from September 26 to October 2 but higher than the 1,347 infections recorded on Tuesday.

The tracker also showed that Metro Manila continues to lead the list of regions with the highest number of infections in the last two weeks with 13,756, followed by Calabarzon with 5,717 and Central Luzon with 2,896.

In terms of individual areas, Quezon City continues to lead with 3,384 infections, followed by Cavite with 1,967 and Rizal with 1,767.

Meanwhile, 17,797 individuals were tested for COVID-19 on Tuesday, reflecting the tallied number of cases on Thursday.
