Man with 10 warrants nabbed in Maguindanao after hiding for 4 years
DATU ODIN SINSUAT, Maguindanao — Police arrested on Tuesday a man wanted for 10 cases of illegal possession of firearms during a law enforcement operation in this town.
Major Esmael Madin, chief of the special operations group of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, said Mubarak Bangon, 34, of Barangay Bitu was nabbed at 10:35 a.m. Tuesday in his village.
Bangon, a farmer, yielded when police, led by Madin, showed him the warrants for violating Republic Act 10591, the law against illegal possession of firearms and explosives.
Madin said the warrants were issued in 2018 by now retired Regional Trial Court Branch 13 Judge Bansawan Ibrahim.
A total of P720,000 bail was recommended for his temporary release.
