Ex-President Duterte visits wake of song-writer in Negros Occidental
BACOLOD CITY — Former president Rodrigo Duterte went Monday to Negros Occidental to visit the wake of a Bacolod resident who wrote a song for him during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Duterte visited the wake of Freddie Mandajoyan Jr., 25, at the Valley of Peace chapel and had dinner with the Yanson family at their beach house in Talisay City before leaving for Davao on Monday evening on board a private plane, said former Bacolod councilor Bobby Rojas.
Mandajoyan, also known as Jun Istalyon, of Barangay Granada, Bacolod, wrote the song “Hihilom ang Sugat” amid the difficulties during the COVID-19 pandemic.
