MANILA, Philippines — The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) on Tuesday said that only 30,183 of the 256,261 public utility vehicles (PUVs) have so far secured a copy of the new fare matrix.

The latest fare was implemented on Monday, October 3, but PUVs without a displayed revised fare matrix cannot enforce the adjustment as it is among the LTFRB’s requirements for application of the fare hike.

Of the PUVs that have acquired a copy of the matrix, 17,496 are public utility jeepneys, 1,263 are public utility buses, and 5,344 are provincial buses as of October 4.

Meanwhile, Transportation Network Vehicle Service (TNVS) is no longer required to apply for a copy of the new fare matrix because the adjustment is already expected to be displayed in their apps.
