Son weeps, wants to become a cop
BEHIND the tears of a 9-year-old boy lies a hunger, a yearning for justice for the murders of his parents.
Social worker Delice Tibay of the Naga City Social Welfare and Development Office in Naga said the son of murdered Aeta couple Junjie Albero and Marjilly Sanger told her that he will become a cop someday.
She said the 9-year-old child, who saw his parents drenched in a pool of their blood minutes after his 2-year-old brother jumped screaming out of the window, told her that he wants to arrest the man who killed his parents.
“It’s a traumatic experience for the child and will deeply affect him,” Tibay said.
For now, Tibay said the 9-year-old child refused to talk with anyone after the incident and would immediately cry.
Tibay said the child was also afraid of going back to their house after he found his parents that morning.
She said they will work harder in debriefing the children, especially the eldest son and the 2-year-old boy.
She said special attention will be given to the couple’s 2-year-old son who appeared to be the only witness during the incident.
Tibay said the child would only approach their grandmother and no one else.
Tibay said they will ask for a child specialist from the Department of Social Welfare and Development in Central Visayas (DSWD-7) to handle the two boys.
Tibay said the children’s grandparents will look after the children.
Marjilly’s mother Lilia, said she is worried they cannot provide enough for their children since they only rely on their sari-sari store for livelihood.
Naga City Mayor Valdemar Chiong said they will extend P5,000 cash assistance to the family and pay for the P7,200 cost of autopsy on the remains.
