LUCENA CITY — Police in Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon) arrested a total of 4,808 suspected criminals and wanted felons in the region last month in an intensified campaign to maintain peace and order, the Police Regional Office 4A (PRO-4A) reported on Monday, October 3.
The PRO-4A said anti-narcotics operatives collared 1,394 alleged traffickers and peddlers of illegal drugs from September 1-30.
Shabu (crystal meth) and marijuana worth P36.7 million were also confiscated during the month-long operations.
The police also nabbed 2,447 alleged illegal gamblers and confiscated a total of P1.2 million in bet money. They likewise arrested at least 75 people for carrying illegal guns while around 430 assorted firearms were also confiscated.
The regional police also reported the arrest of 892 wanted felons across the region last month.
