Australian dies due to cardiac arrest in Pampanga

MANILA, Philippines — An 83-year-old Australian National was found dead inside his home in Pampanga early Sunday after suffering a heart attack, police said Monday.

Chief Superintendent Romeo de Castro, chief of regional public information office, said victim Kevin John Whiteford, was found dead inside his house at No.17-14 Don Fidel Street  Don Bonifacio Subdivision, Barangay (village) Pulung Maragul, Angeles City, Pampanga around 6:15 a.m. Sunday.

De Castro said initial investigation disclosed that a man who works for the victim identified as Jan-Jan Del Mundo Policarpio, 34, went to Whiteford’s place to assist in transferring the latter’s personal belongings to his new apartment.

When Policarpio arrived, he instructed the victim’s housemaid identified as Marlyn Centeno Capales, 38, to inform Whiteford that he already arrived. Moments later, Policarpio heard the housemaid shouting prompting him to rush and check what was happening, de Castro said.

He said Policarpio saw his boss unconscious and seemingly not breathing. Whiteford was taken to the Armando Garcia Medical Center for medical attention but he was declared dead on arrival by his attending physician.

The body of the victim was later transferred at Funeraria Galang for autopsy wherein City Health Officer Dr. Joven Esguerra, said that the cause Whiteford’s death was cardiac arrest, de Castro said.
