Palace confirms Bongbong Marcos’ ‘productive’ weekend trip to Singapore

President Bongbong Marcos stressed that revitalizing the micro, small, and medium enterprises sector is among the top priorities.

MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang and an official from Singapore on Monday confirmed that President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. visited the city-state and met with a Singaporean official on the sidelines of the F1 Grand Prix race over the weekend.

In a Facebook post, Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles said Marcos’ trip to Singapore was a “productive” one.

“Naging produktibo ang pagdalaw sa Singapore ni Pangulong Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr.,” she said as she reposted Singaporean Minister for Manpower Tan See Ling’s post.

“Pinagpatibay niya ang mga pangunahing usapan sa huling state visit sa bayan na ito, at pinatuloy ang paghihikayat sa pag invest sa bayang Pilipinas,” she added.

(He affirmed deals made during his last state visit and he continued to entice investments in the Philippines.)

In a separate Facebook post, the Singaporean minister said he met with Marcos on the sidelines of the F1 Grand Prix race. 

“Happy to meet various Heads of States, Ministers and foreign dignitaries including Bongbong Marcos… to affirm our bilateral economic relationships and strengthen collaborations in energy cooperation as well as exchange views on manpower policies on the sidelines of the race,” he wrote. 

“I hope everyone had a chance to soak in the Singapore Grand Prix activities, whether it is the race or lifestyle experiences happening in town and within our community,” he added.
