Lim, Tan collar top plums in 1st Talisay Triathlon Race

KRISTIANE  Lim and Rochelle C. Tan left their opponents behind to rule their respective divisions in the 1st Talisay Triathlon Race-American Landing Celebration yesterday  at the new Talisay City Fish Port.

Lim crossed the finish line with a time of one hour and 39.57 minutes to clinch the overall title in the men’s division while Tan clocked 2:11.29 to become the champion in the distaff side.

Finishing a few seconds behind Lim was Gerrie Calinawan with a time of 1:40.59. Third place was salvaged by Franz Baguio, who clocked 1:42.53.

In the distaff side, Hannah Lou Galo trailed Tan for second place (2:12.49) while Loveleinell Casidsid settled for third place after clocking 2:19.18.

Luis Miguel “Igi” Maximo bagged the 19-below title with a time of 2:01.08.

Top three finishers in the 20-29 category were Moh Sherwin Managil, Frederick Pahanonot and Jarvis Nike Jaranilla.

Managil was at first place with a time of 1:46.16, second placer was Pahanonot (1:51.15) while third placer was Jaranilla (1:57.38).

Lording it over in the 30-39 was Eugene Sanchez, who clocked 1:50.24.

Tan’s father Tyrone also dominated in the 40-49 with a time of 1:53.10.

Douglas Sharpe dominated in the 50-Above after clocking 2:26.08.

In the relay, the team of Jessie Arriola Jr., Rainier Tan and Victor Monsanto won after combining for a time of 1:55.21.

In the kids category, first-timer Ana Patricia Maximo clinched the 13-14 title after crossing the finish line with a time of 51.04.

The boys 13-14 title went to Justin Liam Chiongbian with a time of 40.13.

Ruling the 11-12 category were Yuan Chiongbian in the boys division and Aaliyah Ricci Mataragnon in the distaff side.

The female 10-under title went to Nina Francesca Villaba, who clocked 55.08.  /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
