LEGAZPI CITY — A drug suspect was killed Wednesday during a buy-bust operation in Nabua, Camarines Sur , the police reported on Thursday.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Paul Cabug, Nabua police chief, said Ramon Patiga sold sachet of shabu (crystal meth) to an undercover police officer in Barangay (village) Sta. Elena Baras at around 3:50 a.m.

Cabug said that when Patiga sensed that he was transacting with a police officer, he drew his firearm and opened fire.

Backup police officers returned fire. Patiga died on the spot

Recovered from Patiga were 50 grams of shabu with estimated market value of P340,000 and a loaded .45 caliber pistol.

Patiga, who was tagged as a high-value target and included in the illegal drugs watch list in the region, sourced his drug supply from Metro Manila and was also operating Naga City and Rinconada area, Cabug added.
