SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — Two residents in this province died at the height of Super Typhoon Karding (international name: Noru), which spawned heavy rains and strong winds.

One of the fatalities, Angel Garcia, was an elderly farmer from Cabangan town.

Authorities said Garcia drowned when a dike was destroyed in the area, flooding the villages of Kadmang, Adbang, Sta. Rita, Apo-apo, San Rafael, and Mabanglit.

The other fatality, 26-year-old Anjomil Millan, died after his motorcycle overturned while negotiating a flooded area in San Felipe town.

At least 1,394 families, most of them residents of Cabangan, have been evacuated from the province.

Authorities monitor every town in the province continuously, ensuring that all evacuation sites remain open for displaced residents. INQ
