SAN ANTONIO, Zambales – Rescue teams have been deployed to flooded areas in Zambales in the wake of of the onslaught of typhoon Karding (internationally name: Noru).
The provincial government reported that some residents in Cabagan town had to be evacuated as floods have already inundated low-lying villages.
All available evacuation sites have already been opened in every town to accommodate displaced residents, it said.
In the latest bulletin Monday morning, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Karding was spotted in the vicinity of Santa Cruz, Zambales with a maximum wind speed of 140 kilometers per hour.
Karding, which was weakened from a super typhoon to a typhoon, is expected to exit the Philippine area of responsibility Monday night.
