Alleged former NPA rebel shot dead in Camarines Sur

LEGAZPI CITY — A man believed to be a former member of the New People’s Army (NPA) was shot and killed by an Goa, Camarines Sur Friday night.

The Goa police said in a report on Saturday that Reynante Clave, 45, was shot multiple times while walking near an elementary school in Barangay  Lamon at around 7:30 p.m.

Clave was said to be a former NPA rebel under Jallores/Tomas Pilapil Command and was previously charged with three counts of violation of Republic Act 7610 or Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.

He was on bail for the said crime.

Further investigation is ongoing.
