Three dead in Cavite, Quezon road mishaps

LUCENA CITY – Three motorists died in separate road accidents on Thursday and Friday in Cavite and Quezon provinces.

Police in Calabarzon reported that motorcycle driver John Vincent Sualog and his back-rider, William Joshua Grepo, were traveling along Gov. Ferrer Drive at Barangay Manggahan in General Trias City, Cavite when their vehicle was hit by an oncoming truck driven by Ronaldo Afable at 9:10 p.m. on Thursday, September 22.

Both motorcycle riders sustained severe injuries and died while being taken to General Trias Medicare Hospital.

Police said the truck occupied the opposite lane of the road while overtaking another vehicle, which led to the collision.

The truck driver is now in the custody of the local police station.

In Tiaong, Quezon, police reported that car driver Isagani Villamin, 41, hit the rear portion of the truck running ahead and driven by Alfredo Evangelista along the Maharlika Highway in Barangay Lagalag at around 3 a.m. on Friday.

Due to the strong impact, Villamin suffered grave injuries and died on the spot. His passenger, Joseph Ramos, sustained minor injuries.
