Capitol killing

THE only son of a slain 75-year-old woman in barangay Capitol Site, Cebu City said the family already gave  to  police the names of persons whom they suspect to be behind the killing.

Rolan Que, 30, son of Teresita Nengasca, called on the perpetrators to surrender.

“You better surrender because what you did will come back to haunt you,” said Rolan in Cebuano.

His mother, a retired employee of PhilHealth, was found dead in a rocking chair at home last Tuesday night.

Autopsy reports showed that her ribs were broken and her face had bruises.

Police said robbery was the motive for the killing.

Rolan confirmed that pieces of jewelry were missing.

Supt. Nestor Sator, medico legal officer, said the victim died of haemorrhage in the back of the head.

Rolan said his mother was alone  when she was attacked.

He said he went out with a friend and returned home to find her dead.

He said he wouldn’t stop until justice would beserved against the killers of his mother. /CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON

Nubain bust

CEBU police arrested two men suspected of selling  Nubain, an injectable painkiller used by drug dependents.

Reyfrando Quiñones was arrested in in barangay Poblacion, Danao City, northern Cebu last Thursday night.

His companion Elnathan Froilan Parel escaped.

The buy-bust operation was made by joint the Provincial Intelligence Branch and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Visayas (PDEA-7).

Several ampules of Nubain and syringes were seized during the operation.

Police arrested Parel at  SM City  in Cebu City in a follow-up operation yesterday morning./CORRESPONDENT GABRIEL C. BONJOC
