Gold panner slain in Masbate shooting

LEGAZPI CITY — A 48-year-old gold panner was shot dead Wednesday in Aroroy town in Masbate province.

Masbate police reported that Alexander Sola was standing at the roadside in Barangay Concepcion when Jocel Magas, 30, also a gold panner, shot him around 8:30 a.m..

Sola died on the spot due to bullet wounds in different parts of his body.

Police immediately arrested and brought Magas to the station for proper disposition.

Investigation was ongoing.
