OLONGAPO CITY — A 47-year-old fugitive in Zambales province was arrested on Monday (September 19) after being on the run for six years, authorities said.

According to the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3), Jesus Abuyen Jr., a resident of Barangay Sto. Niño in San Felipe town in Zambales, was located in his hometown during a manhunt operation.

Abuyen, who is facing a qualified theft charge, was tagged as one of the most wanted persons in San Felipe.

Police served an alias warrant of arrest issued by Judge Consuelo Amog-Bocar of Regional Trial Court Branch 70 in Zambales’ Iba town. A bail of P44,000 was recommended.

“With all police units working closely together, there will be no safe haven for lawless elements as they will be arrested, ensuring safer communities while giving citizens a sound sleep,” Brig. Gen. Cesar Pasiwen, PRO3 director, said in a statement. INQ
