MANILA, Philippines —Job-seekers can choose from more than 7,000 openings at the first job fair hosted by the Department of Tourism (DOT) and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

DOT Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco said the employment program, “Trabaho, Turismo, Asenso! Philippine Tourism Job Fair,” would take place in Manila, Cebu, and Davao from September 22 to 24.

Pre-registration will be done online while the job fair proper will be held at the SMX Convention Center Manila, SM City Cebu, and Abreeza Mall Davao.

“This [pre-registration] enables the job-seekers to focus instead on the core of the event, getting to know the participating establishments and companies and determining the career openings they wish to pursue,” Frasco said in a statement on Monday.

“While the DOT continues to work towards President Bongbong Marcos’ vision for tourism to contribute greatly to our country’s economic resurgence, we fully understand the need for this to be met with efforts to fortify the tourism and allied industry workforce,” she added.

There will be a total of 7,510 vacancies from 147 establishments across the three major locations.

Out of the vacancies, 3,367 jobs from the National Capital Region (NCR), Calabarzon, and Mimaropa will be offered during the Manila leg.

Cebu and Davao, meanwhile, will open 1,633 and 2,510 job opportunities from Visayas and Mindanao, respectively.
