Motorcyclist hurt, pillion rider killed in Catanduanes road accident

LEGAZPI CITY — A motorcyclist was hurt while his pillion rider was killed in a road accident in Virac town in Catanduanes province early Sunday, Sept. 18.

Police Major Robert Kevin Caparroso, Virac police chief, said in a report that the motorcycle driven by Gabriel Ranada hit an electric post in Barangay (village) Danicop at around 3:30 a.m.

Ranada sustained serious injuries while his pillion rider Gerald Talion died while being taken to a hospital.

Initial investigation said Ranada lost control of the motorcycle.
