Pagasa: Cloudy with rain showers in parts of PH as super typhoon exits PAR

MANILA, Philippines — Rain showers and thunderstorms are expected in parts of Luzon and Western Visayas on Saturday due to the southwest monsoon or “habagat” even as Super Typhoon Josie (international name: Nanmadol), slipped in and out of the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR).

(Super Typhoon Nanmadol or Josie will not affect any part of our country. Instead, it is the habagat or southwest monsoon that will trigger rain showers in the western section of Southern Luzon and Visayas).

In particular, Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, Romblon, Aklan, Antique, and Negros Occidental can expect cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon, Pagasa said.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies and isolated rain showers due likewise to the southwest monsoon or localized thunderstorms.

Pagasa warned of possible landslides and flash floods in rain-affected areas.

No gale warning is in effect.
