PNP rescues kidnapping victim in Basilan
MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine National Police (PNP) announced on Friday that it had rescued a man from a group of 10 armed men who had allegedly abducted him in Basilan.
According to PNP chief General Rodolfo Azurin Jr., the victim was found in a safe house in Al-Barka on Thursday, after his armed abductors had abandoned him there.
The PNP said the man was abducted on Tuesday from his home in the village of Bohe Piang, Al-Barka.
The police tracking team, comprised of officers from the Ungkaya Pukan MPS, the Tipo-Tipo MPS, and the 64th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army, was commended by Azurin.
The PNP further said the rescued victim had been given a checkup and debriefed.
