MANILA, Philippines – The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has revoked the licenses of two drivers in Cavite who were caught counterflowing on a video that went viral on social media, giving both drivers a fine for their violations.

The video shows the man who caught the two erring drivers scolded them for breaking the traffic rules because the private car and a motorcycle were counterflowing. The motorcycle appears to have been escorting the car, as it also had a blinker that flashed and sirens that wailed.

“Pinagmumulta at ipinababawi na rin ang lisensya sa pagmamaneho ng dalawang drayber sa Cavite na naging viral sa social media ang nakuhang video ng kanilang paglabag sa batas-trapiko,” sid the LTO in a Facebook post on Wednesday.

(The two drivers were fined and had their licenses revoked.)

According to the LTO’s post, motorcycle driver Michael Inocentes faces administrative cases of reckless driving, failure to attach an authorized motor vehicle license plate, and failure to carry official registration or certificate of registration. He was fined P8,000.

Meanwhile, the private car driver was charged with Obstruction of Traffic and Reckless Driving. He faces a fine of P3,000.

LTO Chief Assistant Secretary Teofilo E. Guadiz III signed the resolution of the two drivers’ punishments, urging motorists to obey traffic regulations.
