NINETY-THREE scholars of Aboitiz Foundation Inc. can now seek employment after they graduated from technical-vocational courses offered by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda).
The graduates are the first batch of beneficiaries of the scholarship program of AFI and and Tesda.
Eighty of the scholars are now certified after passing the national assessment exam for their respective courses.
The scholars took courses like plumbing, refrigeration and air conditioning, automotive mechanic, building wiring installation and computer hardware servicing.
“We recognize the need to equip these students with livelihood skills,” said Aboitiz Foundation executive vice-president and managing trustee Sonny Carpio.
The project was established to address the increasing number of students who are unable to proceed to college due to financial difficulties.
