DINALUPIHAN, Bataan — A girl drowned while her sister was missing when they were swept away by a strong current while crossing a swollen creek with their mother in Hermosa town on Monday, police said.
Senior Superintendent Arnold Gunnacao, Bataan police director, said the body of Mary Joy Reyes, 3, was recovered by divers in a creek in Barangay (village) Tipo, Hermosa, at 12:58 p.m. Her sister, Dorina, 5, had yet to be found as of 6 p.m. Monday.
Police said their mother, Raquel Reyes, survived. Gunnacao said there were heavy rains in Bataan on Monday morning, causing rivers and creeks to swell.
