MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed its 322.5-meter concrete road project in Barangay Lumbocan, Butuan City.
In a statement on Monday, DPWH said that residents of the barangay will now experience more effortless mobility of goods and services with the completion of the project.
“This road project gives relief to the locals as they are now ensured of safer, convenient travel, as well as [a] local economic boost since transport of goods to and from the market is now quicker,” DPWH Region 13 Director Pol Delos Santos said.
DPWH further noted that the road improvement was implemented by DPWH Butuan City District Engineering Office and constructed with a P5 million allocation.
Before the road’s concreting, it was nearly inaccessible, particularly during the rainy season, due to potholes, mud, and stagnant flood water. —Lyka Farillon, Inquirer.net trainee
