Nakabuntis? JV Ejercito says it’s a big lie

JV LAMENTS INACTION ON SIDA LAW: Sen. Joseph Victor "JV" G. Ejercito laments the apparent non-implementation of the Sugarcane Industry Development Act (SIDA) of 2015 Law, which Ejercito co-authored back in the 16th Congress. During the resumption of the Blue Ribbon Committee hearing Tuesday, September 6, 2022, Ejercito said that he is disappointed for the lost time and opportunities to implement the SIDA Law because the Sugar Regulatory Administration, the Department of Agriculture and the Bureau of Customs seemingly lean towards sugar importation rather than "revitalize and stimulate the sugar industry as a whole." Referring to Mr. Manuel Lamata, president of the United Sugar Producers Federation, Ejercito said: "Probably you could have had modern sugar mills already that can really bring down the cost of production of sugar. Our sugar mills are 50, 60, 70 and 100 years old, and they are very costly to operate. That's why we cannot compete with our neighbors, given these circumstances." (Voltaire F. MANILA, Philippines — Senator JV Ejercito on Tuesday belied allegations posted on Twitter that he impregnated another woman.

“A big lie!” Ejercito said, responding to a Twitter post on Tuesday.

The Twitter post read: “Hahaha tahimik ka ata @jvejercito. Busy mag settle sa nabuntis mong chief-of-staff? Lol.”

(Looks like you’re being quiet, @jvejercito. Are you busy trying to reach a settlement with your lady chief-of-staff who you impregnated?)

But the senator shot down the rumors.

“Wag kayo gumawa ng istorya dahil may asawa po ang tao,” the senator said, referring to the woman in question.

(Don’t make stories because that person is already married.)

“Nanahimik kami, ang nagtatrabaho, wag kami idamay sa ganyang chismis. Be responsible,” Ejercito added.

(We are quietly working so don’t drag us into that kind of rumor. Be responsible)

In a Viber message, Ejercito lamented the proliferation of fake news, saying these were “propelled by irresponsible social media users.”

“Sobra bastos and irresponsible ng mga nasa Twitter ngayon. Makapanira lang,” he said.

(The people on Twitter now are very rude and irresponsible)

The senator also expressed his suspicion that this recent attack against him was another diversionary tactic, but he did not elaborate.
