POLICE FIND FOUL PLAY IN WOMAN’S DEATH

Foul play was found in the death of a retired government worker, who was found lifeless in a rocking chair at home in barangay Capitol Site, Cebu City.

The autopsy report showed that 75-year-old Teresita Nengasca died from hemorrhage in the back of the head, according to Supt. Nestor Sator, medico legal officer.

The woman, a retired employee of PhilHealth, also had bruises in the jaw, check and fractured ribs.

Sator said the woman may have been hit first in the face and head before the assailant hit her chest, causing the ribs to crack.

Police said the assailant appeared familiar with the area because the victim’s dogs didn’t bark.

Senior Insp. Rolando Pinili, chief of the Theft and Robbery Section (TRS) of the Cebu City police, said investigators are still looking for witnesses who could help solve the killing.

Pinili said robbery or revenge are being considered as possible motives.

Nengasca’s body was found by her son about 11 p.m. last Tuesday.
